Blaiss Nowak opens Nowak’s in Virginia Highlands Atlanta Opening Event to honor Project Open Hand
Blaiss Nowak, announces the opening of a new restaurant, NOWAK’S. Located at 1397 North Highland Avenue in the Virginia Highlands in Atlanta, Mr. Nowak recently purchased the Morningside Kitchen space from Tom Murphy of Murphy’s.
In conjunction with NOWAK’S grand opening festivities, Mr. Nowak invites the Morningside community to join him as he hosts the first annual Open House for Project Open Hand. Open Hand is a nonprofit organization that provides meals and care to critically ill neighbors and seniors. A highlight of the afternoon and evening event is an art show for purchase by talented Atlanta artists, Oscar Villalobos showcasing his drawings and Wade Watkins detail of Georgia’s diverse landscapes through photography. Ten percent of proceeds contributed or bought during the event will be donated to Project Open Hand. The date is Saturday, July 14th from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and art will be exhibited from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Additionally, a specialty drink has been created for the event. Ask for the “Nowak’s 75.”
Mr. Nowak, son of the popular steakhouse restaurant owner Hal of, Hals The Steakhousestates, “I want our patrons to feel comfortable here, knowing they will receive excellent service and the best food and drink. I want them to come home from work and say, ‘honey, don’t cook tonight.... we’re going to NOWAK’S” .
NOWAK’S is open for dinner Monday through Saturday. Happy Hour begins at 4pm daily and the kitchen opens nightly at 5pm. Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm. Reservations are available through our website: www.nowaksrestaurant.com or by calling (404) 347.9747.
NOWAK’S is a comfortable upscale neighborhood restaurant offering American cuisine with creole influences. If soft shell crabs are in season Nowak’s will have them. Look forward to seafood, steaks and chicken dishes as well as more casual options that include burgers, poboys and entree salads. Diners can look forward to nightly specials as well.
Mr. Nowak’s background is extensive in the food industry. Most recently he was the proprietor of Southern Pier Seafood, a wholesale fresh fish company catering to high-end restaurants. He literally grew up in his father's restaurant Hal’s, and spent many hours as a child at his grandfather's meat packing plant sparking his passion for the food business. His ability to make a customer happy is instinctual; and he welcomes the challenge of serving his patrons with the best the industry can offer.
